You're expecting a baby - huge congrats Mama! Whether this is your first child or you're extending your tribe, welcoming a tiny human into the world is always something which should be celebrated and in my opinion, documented!

Booking a newborn session allows you to sit back and let a professional photograph your little bub. Sure you will take thousands of photos on your phone, you may even have an Uncle Bob who has a high level camera, but nothing will compare to a beautiful set of professional photos that will become family heirlooms and be treasured forever. I understand coming over for your session may be one of your first outings with your new babe and that's why my studio is warm, welcoming and offers tea and coffee in abundance.

When to book your session?

I would recommend that you schedule your session when your baby is around 7-14 days old. However, circumstances may mean that isn't possible and if it isn't then really any age is fine - I've photographed at 8 weeks and the photos are just as beautiful. The most important thing is to capture those memories and as I do this in a candid and documentary way, there's no need for your baby to be a specific age.

What if I need to move my session?

I totally appreciate that the majority of the time babies do not arrive on their due date. We book a provisional date and then you can email/text me to let me know when your baby has arrived and we will move it if we need to.

What happens at my newborn session?

I always ask that you bring baby over in a plain white baby grow (don't worry I have some if you don't have a plain one). I will start the session by photographing them candidly, responding to their natural movements and capturing all of their little details, such as hands and feet. I will also give you and your other children if you have any the opportunity to have photos as well. I would recommend that you also wear white or avoid dark colours and bold patterns. I will then also take some photos of your baby wrapped up in a variety of soft and cosy baby wraps - with a bit of white noise they usually love this and often fall asleep!

All babies are different and we will take the session completely at their own pace, so if they need a break, or you do, that is absolutely fine. We can stop for you to feed them, change them or give them a cuddle at any time. I allow up to two hours for all newborn shoots so there's plenty of time.

When will I receive my photos back?

I aim to send your online viewing gallery back within 1 working week, the photos will be semi edited, once you have chosen your selected 10 images (or upgraded your gallery), I will then complete the final edit and send back the gallery. I'll also send over a sneak peek photo or two shortly after the session.

If you would love to book in a session or have a baby and still haven't had a photoshoot then do get in touch asap, I'd love to hear from you.

When should I book my newborn shoot?

Due to limited availability I would recommend booking in with me anytime after your 20 week scan (a 25% deposit will be taken to secure the session) . If you do end up needing to book in last minute then I will always try to accomodate your session. If you would like a maternity session then I can offer a combined package at a discounted rate - get in touch for more details.

I can't wait to meet you and your family! xx
